Full-time academic staff
is the current acting Head of Department and teaches: Harmony and Composition, Aural Training, Music Analysis and Research Methods.
Mrs. Edith Mbedha Buyinza handles general music education methods, studies in African music and traditional music craftsmanship.
Mr. Hannington Ssennoga Majwala teaches history of African music, Ugandan dance skills, musical instrument playing with emphasis on piano, clarinet and traditional Ă˘â‚¬Ĺ“entongooliĂ˘â‚¬Âť (lyre), Ă˘â‚¬Ĺ“ennangaĂ˘â‚¬Âť (harp) and Ă˘â‚¬Ĺ“amadindaĂ˘â‚¬Âť (xylophone).
Mr. James Isabirye teaches traditional musical instrument playing, voice, music management and studio recording, script writing and play production. He is a member of the Folklorist Association of Uganda. Selma and ISME where he has presented academic papers.
Part-time academic staff
Dr. Benon Kigozi teaches harmony and composition, piano playing, aural training, music analysis and voice.
Mrs. Juliet Senyonjo Ntambi teaches theory and history of western music, aural training, music analysis and traditional music craftsmanship.
Mr. Simeo Ssebuwufu is the music department craftsman and demonstrator of traditional music performances.
Ms. Winnifred Nambalirwa is the Departmental secretary.
