    Ms Mary Nakimwero Profile

    Graduate Fellow 

    Ms Mary NakimweroMs Mary Nakimwero is currently a Graduate Fellow in the Department of Adult and Community Education, Kyambogo University.  She is currently pursuing Master’s Degree in Adult and Community Education (MACE) at Makerere University. She holds a first class honors’ degree in Adult and Education (BACE) of Kyambogo University.  She has an online certificate in Social and Behavior Change Communication from Ohio University. Her research interests are in community development, community health and adult literacy.

    She worked with Ministry of Health (MoH) in the Health Promotion and Education Division for three years. While there, she moderated sessions on the International Symposium on Community Health Extension Workers. She worked as arapporteur at the National Conference for Family Planning. She was part of the team that developed the Community Handbook for Event Based Surveillance in the Ministry of Health. She has been influential in the development of communication strategies for malaria prevention, palliative care, sports for development and the umbrella strategy for Ministry of Health. She participated in the planning, designing, implementation and monitoring of “Obulamu Communication Campaign” by Family Health International (FHI360) supported by United States Aid for International Development (USAID).

    She also worked with Non-Formal Adult Literacy Consultants as a trainer of workers on literacy and computer skills. She also worked with Kabwohe-Itendero Town Council in Community Based Services Department.
