SUBJECT: WELCOME TO THE NEW YEAR AND SECOND SEMESTER

I wish to thank God for having delivered us into the New Year 2017. I believe we are all in good health and spirit as we prepare to start the Second Semester 2016/17.

I thank each one of you in a special way for your hard work and contributions in various aspects of the University life that ensured a successful end of Semester I 2016/17.

The year ended with a Graduation Ceremony which was colourful, tranquil and very well organised despite the heavy rain night of 13th December 2016.

It also ended with excellent performance of our Sports team during Inter University Games in Nairobi and excellent performance of the Debating Group that had travelled to Namibia.

I congratulate the Ceremonies Committee , all the Deans, Administrators in Faculties, Academic Registrar's Department the dean of Students and the Sports persons and the Debating group for having done us proud.

I am also informed that the end of year party was a huge success, Thanks to the Organizers, DVC (F&A) and Chairman of Council.

As we prepare to start the second semester, I wish to request that we mobilize ourselves to do a very good job. Let us commit ourselves to keep the peace, hard work dialogue and respect for each other from now on. You will find Management very willing to listen and to address your issues at any time.

The achievements we have registered over the last three years emphasize one point that we can transform Kyambogo University in to a great International Institution if we all commit ourselves to work hard and keep the peace.

Lastly I wish you a joyous and prosperous 2017.
