 Department of Adult and Community Education

Kyambogo University, Uganda

 

Background Information

Department of Adult and Community Education is one of the three (3) departments that constitute the Faculty of Needs and Rehabilitation of Kyambogo University. The main aim of the department is to work as a partner with the Government of Uganda in training professionals who can bring about social and economic transformation of our country. This would help in realizing Uganda’s Vision statement which is “A Transformed Ugandan Society from a Peasant to a Modern and Prosperous Country within 30 years”.

 

Academic programmes offered in the department

There are two academic programmes run by the department and they are accredited by National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) namely:

  • Bachelor of Adult and Community Education (BACE) (Day and Evening)
  • Certificate in Adult and Community Education (CACE) (Evening)

The department is currently developing other new programs yet to be approved by NCHE before they are run. These are:

  • Master of Adult and Community Education
  • Bachelor of Community Innovations and Sustainable Development
  • Diploma in Community Innovations and Sustainable Development
  • Diploma in Adult and Community Education
