The Faculty of Science at Kyambogo University is one of the leading entities in Uganda, dedicated to excellence in research and practical learning since 2003. Our dynamic faculty consists of eight academic departments including Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Food Science and Technology, Mathematics and Statistics, Physics, Sport Science and, Textile and Leather Technology. We are committed to innovative and applied research, exceptional teaching and training, and meaningful community engagement. Our programs are designed to produce graduates equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the challenges of today’s workplace and to apply scientific expertise for the benefit of society.

The Faculty of Science is home to two Learning Centres, each contributing to its rich academic footprint away from the Main Campus in Kampala.

Laboratories

For over 20 years, the Faculty of Science has successfully trained scientists at the Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD levels, thanks to our commendable laboratory facilities that generate credible results.

We are excited to announce the establishment of a fully functional microbiology laboratory under the Department of Food Science and Technology. This facility will offer routine microbiological analyses and nationally recognized certificates of analysis. This marks the beginning of the accreditation process for all our laboratories, enabling the Faculty of Science to offer analytical services to the general public.
