    Assistant Lecturer

    Garuzooka John FrancisMr. Garuzooka John Francis is Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Adult and Community Education, Faculty of Special Needs and Rehabilitation, Kyambogo University. He also serves as the coordinator Community Practice and is the current patron Kyambogo University Adult and Community Education Students’ Association (KACESA). Francis holds Master of Adult and Community Education from Makerere University and Bachelors of Adult and Community Education of Kyambogo University. He also holds a post graduate certificate in Computer Applications from IICD, Competency certificate in Start and Manage your Business by International Labor Organization (ILO), Adolescent sexual and reproductive health by Reproductive Health Uganda (RHU) and certificate in Community Integrated Development Initiative by KYDEVA Uganda.

    Prior to his appointment as an Assistant Lecturer in 2015, Francis worked as a Programs Director at National Adult Education Association of Uganda and a Trainer of Trainers in “start and manage micro-enterprises” at International Labor Organization in Uganda. He is also currently participating in writing of a trainers’ manual for Community Development Officers on sexual reproductive health and HIV/AIDS with Ministry of Gender Labour and Social Development (MoGLSD).

    He has conducted researches in family planning education and practices and rural non-literate women in reproductive age in Mbaare- Isingiro District in 2015 and Factors for the high dropout rate of girl children before completing their primary education in Ibanda District in 2011. Being passionate about the youth and social entrepreneurship, Francis is currently developing a PhD concept on the stigma associated with vocational education, youth and unemployment.
