Staffing and Committee Structures of the Directorate of Gender Mainstreaming
The Directorate of Gender Mainstreaming at Kyambogo University is under the office of the Vice-Chancellor. The Directorate is headed by The Ag. Director who is assisted by the Administrative Assistant and Office Attendant. The Directorate established Committees (the KyU Gender Equality Committee and the KyU Gender Technical Working Committee) that support the implementation of the KyU Gender Policy in the core functions of the University.
Through the gender equality committee, the Directorate will draft periodic reports for the Vice-Chancellor and makes appropriate recommendations towards improving gender and equity environment in the University. The Directorate also strengthens faculties and Schools (sentinel sites) to mainstream gender and equity interventions in their work plans, budgets and monitoring and evaluation tools.
