The Academic Registrar, Kyambogo University, invites online applications from Diploma/Certificate holders for admission to various Undergraduate Programmes for the 2025/2026 Academic Year.
Eligibility Criteria
Each applicant must meet the following requirements:
- Possess at least a Credit or Second Class or equivalent Diploma/Certificate in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
- Hold a Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least five (5) passes (i.e., no grade 9 or its equivalent).
- Hold a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) with at least one principal pass and two subsidiary passes in the principal subjects for Science applicants or two principal passes in the principal subjects for Arts applicants, obtained in the same sitting (or its equivalent).
Application Process
- Submission: All applications must be submitted online through the university application portal: https://apply.kyu.ac.ug.
- Payment: Upon submission, print the pay-slip and pay a non-refundable application fee of UGX 50,000 for Ugandans and East African Nationals or USD 30 for International applicants. Bank charges apply.
- Verification of Documents:
- Applicants with qualifications from countries other than Uganda must submit photocopies of equated academic documents issued by UNEB/NCHE to Kyambogo University Admissions Office (Block 2 – Room 3) before the application deadline.
- Ugandan applicants must submit a printed application form along with original certified copies of their academic documents to Admissions Office (Block 2 – Room 3).
 
Deadline for Online Applications: Friday, 28th March 2025 (Midnight).

Important Guidelines
- Only applicants with Original Certified Result Slips, Academic Transcripts, and Certificates will be considered for admission.
- For assistance with filling the online application form, visit Admissions Office (Block 2 – Room 3).
- Use the programme code (not the full programme name) when completing the application form.
- Beware of fraud! The Academic Registrar has not appointed any agents to solicit additional funds beyond the stated application fee.
- The University reserves the right to admission and fee review at any time.
- All enquiries should be directed to the Academic Registrar’s Office.
Verification and Admission Process
- To confirm payment receipt, check the email used for application. If no confirmation email is received within 30 minutes, log into your account to verify the payment status.
- If payment is not reflected as “PAID” within 24 hours, contact Kyambogo University Admissions Office for assistance.
- The list of admitted students will be published on the University website: www.kyu.ac.ug.
Document Submission Requirements
Applicants must submit the following:
- A photocopy of the UCE Pass Slip and Certificate.
- A certified copy of the Diploma/Certificate and transcript from a recognized institution.
- Applicants with foreign qualifications must submit photocopies of original documents along with UNEB/NCHE equated results.
- Applicants who obtained an overall Grade of 7, 9, Y, or Z at O-Level do not qualify for admission.
Fraud Warning
Providing false information or impersonation will result in automatic cancellation of admission and may lead to police prosecution.
