The President of the Republic of Uganda H.E YoweriKaguta Museveni has urged the Graduates to contribute to the sustainable social, economic transformation of communities that their studies are meant for. He said this during the 15th Graduation ceremony of Kyambogo University in his speech read by the Vice President H.E Edward Sekandi. He asked the Graduands to be patriotic, disciplined and have a positive attitude as well as being men and women of intelligence, and character.
During the three-day graduation period from 12th – 14th December 2018, a total of 8,173graduands of whom 4,446are Males and 3,757 are femaleswill be awarded with certificates, diplomas, bachelors and master’s degrees. Of these, 240 students obtained first class degrees in various Bachelors programmesmes.
The best performing student in the Humanities is MrOdekeEnock, Bachelor of Education who scored a CGPA of 4.86 and the best in the Sciences is Ndekera Edgar Mbiri, Bachelor of Food Processing Technology who scored a CGPA of 4.97 out of a total of 5.0. The overall best female was AnomugishaAdrine, Bachelor of Education who scored CGPA of 4.84.
The Vice Chancellor Prof. Eli Katunguka – Rwakishaya said thatthe university has advanced in the use of ICT for teaching and learning and administration and has spearheaded the development of the Academic Information Management System now deployed in all public universities.
The Chancellor Prof. John Ssebuwufu thanked the Government of Uganda for being such a dependable partner and benefactor of the University, which has enhanced the quality of the services.
