The Academic Registrar, Kyambogo University, invites applications for admission to Graduate Programmes (Postgraduate Diplomas, Master’s Degrees, and Doctoral Programs) for the 2025/2026 Academic Year. Eligible applicants must possess the prerequisite academic and professional qualifications from a recognized institution accredited by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) at the time of completion, as prescribed in the advertisement. No application for admission shall be considered outside these criteria.

All Graduate Programmes are PRIVATELY SPONSORED. The University tuition fees indicated for various programmes exclude functional fees, research, books, accommodation, bank charges, and other expenses.

DURATION OF PROGRAMMES

  • Postgraduate Diplomas – One Academic Year
  • Master’s Degrees – Two Academic Years
  • PhD (Provisional Admission) – One Academic Year (Maximum)
  • PhD (Full Admission – Coursework & Dissertation) – Two Academic Years
  • PhD (Full Admission – Research Only) – Three Academic Years

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  1. Visit the Kyambogo University Admissions URL: https://apply.kyu.ac.ug.
  2. Click on “Register Now” and fill in your correct name, email, mobile number, and other details, then click “Register”.
  3. After registration, a One-Time Password (OTP) will be sent to both your mobile number and email.
  4. Use your email address or phone number along with the OTP to log in.
  5. Change the password to one you can easily recall.
  6. Click on the “APPLY NOW” button (for first-time applicants) or “MY PORTAL” button (for renewal of application) to fill in the Application Form.
  7. Scan all academic documents (transcripts, certificates, O’ and A’ Level slips) and other relevant documents (e.g., Identification Card, proof of required experience/registration where applicable) and upload them onto the system.
  8. Also, download, fill, scan, and upload the Referee’s Letter (accessible at: https://gradsch.kyu.ac.ug/download/referees-form-of-recommendation-for-admission-to-graduate-programmes).
  9. Submit the completed form.
  10. Obtain a payment reference number by clicking on the “Pay for Form” button.
  11. Make payment at any bank integrated with our system or acceptable to URA. The non-refundable application fee is:
  • UGX 50,000 for Ugandan, Kenyan, Tanzanian, Rwandese, Burundian, Congolese (DRC), and South Sudanese applicants.
  • UGX 75,000 for International applicants (excluding bank charges).

NOTE:

  1. Print a copy of the system-generated biodata form, attach certified copies of your academic documents, all other relevant documents, a passport photo, and three referees’ letters of recommendation, and submit them to:
    Kyambogo University Directorate of Research and Graduate Training, Uganda Block, Room 1.
  2. No application form shall be considered without proof of payment.
  3. Academic documents/certificates in languages other than English must be translated by a recognized institution before submission, and a certificate of translation must be attached.
  4. Academic awards obtained outside Uganda must be certified/equated by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) before submission.
  5. The CLOSING DATE for receiving applications is SUNDAY, 3RD MAY 2025.
