Kyambogo University, through the Office of the Academic Registrar, has announced the opening of online applications for selected Education programmes for the 2026/2027 Academic Year. Qualified applicants holding relevant teaching certificates or diplomas are invited to apply for admission to external education programmes offered by the university.
The programmes are designed to upgrade and strengthen the professional qualifications of teachers and education practitioners, particularly those already serving in the education sector.
Programmes Offered
Kyambogo University is offering the following programmes under the External Study Scheme:
Programme:
Bachelor of Education Secondary – External (BESE) – 3 Years
Bachelor of Special Needs Education – External (BSNEE) – 3 Years
Diploma in Special Needs Education – External (DSNEE) – 2 Years
General Admission Requirements
Applicants should possess:
- Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least six passes including a credit in English Language.
- At least a Credit or Second-Class Certificate/Diploma in a relevant education field from a recognized institution.
Specific programme requirements apply depending on the programme selected.

After submitting the application form, applicants must print a pay-slip and pay a non-refundable application fee of:

UGX 55,000 for Ugandans and East African nationals

UGX 115,000 for international applicants
Payments should be made through banks integrated with the Academic Management Information System (ACMIS).
Applicants are advised to use the programme code (not the programme name) when filling in the online application form.
Application Deadline
Tuesday, 31st March 2026 at Midnight
Applicants should print their application forms and submit them together with original certified copies of academic documents to the Admissions Office, Block 2 – Room 3 for verification.
Important Notes
- The Academic Registrar has not appointed any agents to collect additional funds.
- Applicants are advised to beware of conmen and conwomen.
- Only applicants with original certified transcripts, result slips, and certificates will be considered for admission.
- Lists of successful applicants and admission letters will be published on the University website.
