Kyambogo University is set to host a landmark panel discussion workshop on December 16, 2024, focusing on the digital transformation of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions across Uganda. This transformative event results from a strategic collaboration between Kyambogo University, Tallinn University, and NGO Mondo, with significant support from the Estonian Centre for International Development (ESTDEV). The project is further bolstered by funding from the Estonian Government.

Project Essence

The initiative, titled “Digital Transformation in Education: Co-creation of Institutionally-led Innovations in TVET Institutions in Uganda,” seeks to address critical challenges in integrating educational technologies within TVET institutions. With backing from ESTDEV – Estonian Centre for International Development, this project unites key stakeholders to redefine digital learning strategies and approaches in Uganda’s vocational education landscape.

ESTDEV, the funding institution, plays a pivotal role in supporting international development through innovative educational initiatives. Its partnership ensures the alignment of global expertise with local educational needs, driving meaningful change in Uganda’s education sector.

Leadership at the Helm

The project is steered by Professor Kwetegyeka, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Finance and Administration at Kyambogo University, who serves as the chief adviser. Day-to-day coordination of the project is expertly managed by Associate Professor GW Kasule, Dean of the School of Education.

  1. Obstacles and potential for implementing digital tools in TVET instruction
  2. Assessing educators’ capacity and readiness for technological integration
