The Academic Registrar, Kyambogo University, invites online applications from Diploma and Certificate holders only for admission to the under-listed Undergraduate Programmes for the 2026/2027 Academic Year.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Hold at least a Credit or Second Class or equivalent Certificate/Diploma in a relevant field from a recognized institution

  • Possess a Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least five (5) passes (five subjects without Grade 9 or equivalent)

  • Possess a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) with:

    • Sciences: At least one Principal Pass and two Subsidiary Passes in the relevant principal subjects

    • Arts: At least two Principal Passes in the relevant principal subjects

  • All UACE principal subjects must have been obtained at the same sitting

  • Principal subjects required for admission to a Diploma programme must be passed at Principal or Subsidiary level

Application Fees

Upon submitting the online application form, applicants must print a pay-slip and pay a non-refundable application fee as follows:

  • UGX 55,000 – Ugandans and East African Nationals

  • UGX 115,000 – Other International Applicants

(Plus bank charges as levied by any bank integrated with the Academic Management Information System – ACMIS.)

Submission of Academic Documents

  • Applicants with qualifications obtained outside Uganda must submit photocopies of Equated Academic Documents issued by UNEB/NCHE to:
    Kyambogo University, Admissions Office, Block 2 – Room 3

  • After submitting the online application, such applicants must:

    • Print the application form

    • Attach photocopies of the equated academic documents

    • Submit them to the Admissions Office not later than the application deadline

  • Ugandan nationals must submit:

    • A printed application form

    • Original Certified Copies of academic documents
      to Admissions Office, Block 2 – Room 3

Only applicants with Original Certified Academic Transcripts/Result Slips and Certificates shall be considered for admission.

Important Information for All Applicants

  2. Applications must be submitted online via: https://apply.kyu.ac.ug

  3. Use the Programme Code (not the full programme name) when filling in the application form

  4. Do not buy documents from unauthorized sources. Beware of conmen and conwomen

  5. The Academic Registrar has not appointed any agents to solicit additional funds

  7. The University reserves the right to admission and review of fees from time to time

  8. Payment confirmation will be sent to the applicant’s registered email address. If not received within 30 minutes, log into your application account to confirm payment status. If payment does not reflect as “PAID” within 24 hours, contact the University for assistance

  9. Lists of admitted students will be published on www.kyu.ac.ug

  10. Applicants must provide accurate O-Level details (year of completion, index number, subjects, and grades). Applicants with overall Grades 7, 9, Y or Z at O-Level do not qualify and should not apply

  11. Any form of false information or impersonation will lead to automatic cancellation of admission and possible prosecution

  12. Only Original Certified Copies (not photocopies of certified copies) of results slips, transcripts, and certificates from recognized institutions shall be accepted
