Theme: Sustainable Engineering: Unlocking the Potential of Engineers in Driving the Green Revolution in Industry 4.0
The Faculty of Engineering at Kyambogo University, in collaboration with Kyambogo University Women in Engineering (KYUWE), is proud to announce a high-impact event, the 2025 Sustainable Engineering Conference. Scheduled for 8am- 5pm on 12th September 2025 at CTF grounds, this event will convene engineering professionals, students, researchers, and industry stakeholders to explore the pivotal role of engineers in driving Uganda’s transition towards a sustainable, technology-driven future.
Guided by the overarching theme “Sustainable Engineering: Unlocking the Potential of Engineers in Driving the Green Revolution in Industry 4.0,” the event aims to spark vital conversations around the intersection of engineering, innovation, and sustainability in the context of Industry 4.0.

Event Highlights:
The conference will feature four dynamic panel sessions, each addressing key facets of the green revolution from both local and global perspectives:
Panel Session 1: From Campus to Industry
Sub-theme: Young Engineers Powering Uganda’s Green Revolution
This session will spotlight the fresh energy, innovation, and passion that young Kyambogo University alumni engineers bring to the sustainability agenda. Discussions will center on how graduates can transition from academic learning to industrial impact, shaping green and resilient systems.
Panel Session 2: Engineers and the Green Revolution
Sub-theme: Engineers Advancing Green Technologies
This panel will feature professionals leading the charge in developing and implementing green technologies. The session will explore how engineering innovations can reduce environmental footprints while enhancing productivity across sectors.
Panel Session 3: AI, Innovation, and Climate Change
Sub-theme: AI and Emerging Technologies Combating the Climate Crisis
This forward-looking discussion will delve into how artificial intelligence and emerging technologies are being harnessed to tackle climate change—from predictive modeling and smart grids to carbon tracking and precision agriculture.
Panel Session 4: Energy Transition
Sub-theme: Sustainable Energy Generation
As Uganda and the world move towards cleaner energy systems, this session will explore sustainable energy solutions, policy frameworks, and the role of engineers in designing inclusive, low-carbon energy infrastructures.
Distinguished Chief Guest: Prof. Charles Kwesiga
The event will be graced by Prof. Charles Kwesiga, Executive Director of the Uganda Industrial Research Institute (UIRI), as the Chief Guest. A celebrated Engineer and thought leader, Prof. Kwesiga brings a wealth of experience in Industrial Innovation, policy development, and sustainable manufacturing.

This event reinforces Kyambogo University’s commitment to fostering a generation of engineers equipped to lead Uganda’s green transformation.
