It is a honour for me to welcome you to the Institute of Distance Education, E-Learning & Learning Centres (IDAEL) which started its journey in January 2022 after the structuring of the University’s establishment.
As you are aware, the Distance and E-learning mode of education is being recognized both nationally and internationally as a viable strategy for promoting remote teaching and learning; particularly propelled by ongoing global trends like the internationalization and massification of education, pandemics, etc. Such emerging trends have sparked a fundamental shift in education delivery from the ‘ mortar’ classroom to the distance and online mode, which has now become the norm rather than an anomaly.
In order to realize Kyambogo University’s strategic intervention of increasing accessibility to education, IDEAL, through its Centre for Distance Education, Centre for E-Learning, and Learning Centres continues to reach out to potential learners who have the desire to earn academic certifications but cannot do so by conventional face-to-face programmes at the university’s main campus in Kyambogo for several reasons. Our goal as an institute is to maximize the synergy between the aspirations of the community and innovative instructional methodologies that give learners a chance to acquire relevant skills and competencies with a great degree of convenience.
At IDAEL, we have a dedicated team of academic and administrative staff that is focused on providing quality, innovative, and client-oriented services that align with the University’s vision and mission.
