Kyambogo University has celebrated the impressive academic journey of Dr. Kiganda Ivan, whose rise from a diploma student in chemistry to earning a PhD serves as a compelling example of resilience, discipline, and scholarly excellence.

Dr. Ivan started his academic journey at Kyambogo University with a Diploma in Science Technology, Chemistry (STC). His dedication to learning and active participation in the Chemistry Students’ Association (CHETESA) quickly set him apart from his peers. Building on this base, he progressed to a Bachelor of Science in Science Technology, Chemistry (BSTC), where he played a significant role in the growth of CHETESA, mentoring fellow students and encouraging teamwork.

Motivated by a passion for research, he pursued postgraduate studies at the University of Nairobi. He earned a Master’s degree in Chemistry, specialising in Natural Product Chemistry, before progressing to a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemistry at the same institution. His doctoral achievement marks the culmination of years of dedication to scientific inquiry and academic excellence.

The Chemistry Students’ Association and the Department of Chemistry at Kyambogo University commended Dr. Ivan’s achievements, highlighting his lasting bond with the university’s chemistry fraternity.
