Kyambogo University is organizing the second edition of the Science Technology Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) Festival scheduled to begin from 24th to 26th May 2023 at Central Teaching Facility under the theme “Demystifying Science, Technology and Innovation for Community Development”. The Chief Guest will be the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Hon. Janet K. Museveni.

Prior to the event, there will be a Pre Steam conference where the Academic staff of Kyambogo University among others will be presenting the findings of their research.

STEAM Festival is an annual event that was initiated by Faculty of Science to act as platform that provides an opportunity for knowledge sharing and exhibit the various research innovations and pedagogical interventions that are being carried out within the different Faculties/Schools and Institute at Kyambogo University.

According to the STEAM Festival Coordinator Dr. Savannah Nuwagaba, the main goal of the Festival is to develop an appreciation of the role of science and technology in community development through bridging the gap between knowledge creators and knowledge consumers.

“There will be three sub-themes will be explored by academia, industry and policy participants before the general public that shall include; Strategizing for Equitable and Innovative Education, Initiating Sustainable Dialogues between Research, Policy and Industry for Evidence-based decision making and protecting the environment for a secure future for all”.  Dr. Savannah noted.
