The role of Kyambogo University Business Incubation Center (KyU BIC) is to: (1) nurture business startups in bakery & confectionery, (2) serve as a source of revenue for the University through utilisation of the commercial wing to provide unique and high-quality bakery & confectionery products to the university and the surrounding communities, (3) stimulate student learning & innovation by providing apprenticeship and research opportunities for KyU student community, (4) provide a platform for translating University research into practical business solutions.

The Center is open to all persons who have innovative ideas in Baking and Confectionery that need to be transformed into real business undertakings. These may include teaching and non-teaching staff, students and the general public. The Center has been established to promote research targeted to solving industry problems in baking and also to support KyU become a centre of excellence and world-class University. The centre has been established using funding from the African Development Bank in partnership with the Government of Uganda under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Sports. We are therefore very grateful to the President of Uganda, H.E. Y. K. Museveni, and his Government for securing these funds to establish the Business Incubation Center. We also appreciate the guidance from PSFU and Prof. Eli Katunguka – Rwakishaya, the Vice Chancellor of Kyambogo University.
