At Kyambogo University, we recognize that modern, sustainable infrastructure is essential for achieving academic and professional excellence. As the second-largest public university in Uganda, with over 33,400 students, the demand for quality facilities continues to grow.
To meet this demand, Kyambogo University has adopted the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model as an innovative and sustainable approach to financing infrastructure development. This strategic shift is part of the University’s broader Resource Mobilization and Investment Policy, which emphasizes collaborative, forward-thinking solutions to long-standing challenges.
Through this approach, we aim to create a more conducive learning, living, and recreational environment for our students and staff.
As a starting point in our PPP journey, the University has prioritised two transformative projects:
A proposed 10,000-bed capacity residential complex is designed to address the persistent accommodation shortfall. Out of the 8,000 annual applications, only 1,400 students can currently be housed on campus. This project aims to provide safe, affordable, and accessible living spaces within the university.
The Multipurpose Sports Complex and Business Centre will feature world-class sports facilities, a hostel, and vibrant commercial spaces—enhancing campus life, boosting university-industry ties, and driving economic growth through sports tourism and job creation.
