The 9th Forum of the East African Higher Education Quality Assurance Network that started from 6th to 10th May at Imperial Golf View Hotel, in Entebbe Uganda was to foster dialogue through sharing of ideas on higher education policies, Quality assurance practices, challenges and prospects for promoting quality and relevance of higher education in the region.
The Forum was organized under the theme; “Competence-Based learning for Achieving sustainable Development goals”.
Kyambogo University was represented by Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic Affairs, Prof. Maria G.N Musoke, Dean Faculty of Education Ass. Prof. Ayikoru Asiimwe Joyce, Chairperson Quality Assurance, Sr. Dr. Maria Gorrette Kaahwa among others.The main objectives of the forums are to offer academics and practitioners in quality assurance the opportunity to;
- Strengthen collaborations, networking and capacity building among stakeholders involved in Quality Assurance work in the region. The specific emphasis of capacity building through keynotes and training workshops offered will include promoting Entrepreneur, innovative and market-driven programs in Higher Education.
- Discuss policies concerning competence Based Teaching and learning in the East African Higher Education system and Societal impact.
- Learn lessons from other regions on the involvement of private Sector on Quality
Enhancement and Institutional Sustainability.
- Share lessons learnt during the period of Quality Enhancement of the Higher Education sector in East Africa.
