Dear Members of the University Community,

We are writing to inform you about an important verification exercise initiated by the Ministry of Public Service in response to the recent release of the report of the special payroll audit conducted by the Office of the Auditor General. This exercise pertains to the verification of unverified or partially verified public officers in ministries, departments, agencies, and local governments.

Following recommendations made by the Auditor General, the Ministry of Public Service has organized a comprehensive verification exercise. This exercise aims to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the government payroll system. It is crucial for all affected individuals to participate in this process to avoid any discrepancies in their employment status.

Details of the Verification Exercise:

  • Duration: The verification exercise will be conducted from 11th March to 28th June, 2024.
  • Timing: Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
  • Venue: National Archives and Records Center (NARC) – Kampala, located next to the Ministry of Health headquarters on Lourdel Road.

Documents Required for Verification:

To facilitate the verification process, individuals are required to bring the following documents:

  1. An introductory letter personally signed by the responsible officer. A scanned copy of this letter should be emailed to payrollveri@publicservice.go.ug.
  2. A valid employee identity card.
  3. Original and photocopy of national identity card.
  4. Original and photocopies of academic and professional certificates.
  5. Original and photocopies of appointments/promotion letters.
  6. Original and photocopy of confirmation letters.
  7. Original and photocopy of the current deployment letter.
  8. Pay slips for December 2023 and January 2024, signed by the responsible officer.

Please ensure that you come prepared with all the necessary documentation listed above to expedite the verification process.

Important Note:

All staff enlisted as List A and B in the provided PDF document are required to participate in the verification exercise. Failure to appear for verification within the scheduled period may result in removal from the government payroll.
