Date: 6th – 8th October 2025

Theme: “Bridging Worlds, Shaping Sustainable Futures”

Design is a transformative practice, refining the rough edges of the world and forging pathways to reshape how we live, work, and connect. In an increasingly interconnected and complex world, design has transcended its traditional focus on form and function, evolving into an aesthetic-driven and emotionally resonant tool for addressing social, cultural, environmental, and economic challenges.

The UG Design Summit embraces interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approaches, unlocking innovative methodologies that seamlessly connect theory with practice. It seeks to bring together designers, innovators, and thought leaders from both developed and developing economies to explore how design can bridge diverse contexts and serve as a catalyst for sustainable, impactful solutions.

Inspired by the metaphor of a potter’s wheel, where the creative process moulds raw ideas into tangible and meaningful innovations. Like clay, design takes shape through the hands of diverse creators spinning on the axis of collaboration, cultural exchange, and shared knowledge. This event offers a platform for participants to collaboratively craft a forward-looking vision for design, one that transcends boundaries to address critical global challenges.

The UG Design Summit is more than just a conference; it is a collaborative journey.  It empowers participants to confront global issues such as climate change, digital transformation, and social inequality through the lens of design-driven innovation. At the same time, it fosters reflection on the deep interconnections between culture, context, and the value of design. By encouraging dialogue, sharing experiences, and building networks, the summit aspires to cultivate a community of practice committed to inclusivity, resilience, and adaptability.

As the world navigates the complexities of the new normal, the UG Design Summit presents a timely opportunity to rethink how we design for the future.  By integrating diverse perspectives and embracing bold, creative ideas, the summit envisions a world where design transcends boundaries, unites communities, leveraging emerging technologies, or creating systems that drives meaningful change. We invite you to join this transformative journey and contribute to shaping a better, more inclusive future for all through the power of design.
